EREC: A Field Station of the Bluegrass
The Ecological Research and Education Center (EREC) is a research and education facility dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of biology in natural or semi-natural settings. It supports activities by UK or visiting faculty and students, formal courses, and engagement with the broader Lexington community. The station consists of ~60 acres of fields, hedgerows, and small woodlots, with infrastructure allowing for control over several aspects of the environment. The station is managed by the UK Department of Biology. Check out the rest of this web site for more information or contact the Director, Dr. David Westneat (david.westneat@uky.edu). I would be happy to help!
